      ii. Richard LAMBERT, born at Lamberton House, 1676; co-appellant, with his cousin Thomas PIGOTT, in the 1725 House of Lords litigation over the Kilcromin estate; 4th Earl of Cavan, 1702; he died in 1742; he was married at Barbadoes, to Margaret TRANT, with issue.

    • Charles styled Lord Lambert at birth was born in Lamberton, Maryborough in 1649. Son of the 2nd Earl's first wife. In 1680 he went on a grand tour of Europe and remained out of Ireland till 1690.

      On is return to Ireland in 1692 he backed King William III and saved the family estates. Succeeded as 3rd Earl of Cavan on the death of his father. He took his seat in the House of Lords 27th October, 1692.

      In 1670 he married Castelina daughter of Henry Gilbert of Kilminchey Castle, Maryborough and sister of St Ledger Gilbert, M.P. for Maryborough. They had four sons and a daughter, their eldest son Charles Lord Lambert died in 1689. The Earl died 5th December 1702 and was buried in St Patrick's Cathedral. His widow died at Lamberton in 1742.

      Charles Lambart, 3rd Earl of Cavan (7 September 1649 – 5 December 1702) was an Irish peer.

      He was the eldest son of Richard Lambart, 2nd Earl of Cavan and Rose Ware. He inherited the Earldom of Cavan in 1690 from his father, who had long been insane.

      He married Castilina, daughter of Henry Gilbert, and had four sons, including Charles, Lord Lambart, who predeceased him, and Richard Lambart, 4th Earl of Cavan.
