- Mural Tablet In the Church. of St Nicholas, Liverpool
Near this place are deposited the mortal part of Elizabeth, daughter of George Leigh, of Oughtrington, in the County of Chester, and relict of William Clayton, of Liverpool, Esq., to whom she was married the 7th of August 1690, and had issue 2 sons and 7 daughters, viz. Eleanor, married to Mr Richard Houghton of this place, Merchant. Annie, married to Banastre Parker of Cuerden, in the County of Lancaster, Esq. Margaret, married to Thomas Case of Red Hafles, in the same County, Esq. And Sarah Clayton, by whom this Monument was Erected to her memory; the rest died young. She died after a life well spent in her Duty to God, and the care of her Family, in the 78th Year of her age. A.D. 1745.
